This is an incredible live version of Achilles Last Stand, from Zeppelin’s, 1979, Knebworth Concert; which, sadly, would be their last performance, prior to the death of their drummer, John Bonham.

Enjoy!

How cool (and historical) is this? Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, together on April 5th, at Radio City Music Hall, singing “With a little Help from My Friends”.

John Paul Jones and Paul Gilbert, playing an instrumental version of Going to California.

John Paul Jones can really play the mandolin…

This is really nice!

For anyone that has never heard Stanley Jordan, you “may” really appreciate this.

As a guitarist, I really appreciate Stanley Jordan’s style of guitar playing; I saw him live, in Philadelphia, back in the nineties; it was great!

This is Stanley  Jordan performing Stairway to Heaven.

Enjoy!

John Bonham was a true master (freak of nature) on drums.
This is about 3/4′s of Moby Dick from Zeppelin’s famous, Royal Albert Hall performance in 1970.

I think that Bonham’s drum solo is completely amazing.

Enjoy!

Here is a very nice, and very rare, live Zeppelin performance of Babe I’m Gonna Leave You.

Enjoy!

I believe that this is one of only two times that they performed Babe I’m Going to Leave You live. Also, I believe this performance is from their very first tour, which was in Scandinavia (Led Zeppelin Scandinavian Tour), and lasted ten days, under the name of The New Yardbirds; which was a Yardbirds contractual agreement being fulfilled. The tour went so well, and surpassed anything that the original Yardbirds could have imagined, that the band collectively decided to drop The Yardbirds name and come up with a new name; hence the incarnation of Led Zeppelin.

And here is the song Help, from the same performance.

“When I was younger, so much younger then today, I never needed anybody’s help, in any way.
Now, these days are gone, I’m not so self assured; now I find, I’ve changed my mind, and opened up the door.”

Enjoy!

This is truly history being made; due to the shear magnitude of The Beatles popularity, and demand, there was no other way to accommodate the amount of fans that wanted to see them, except to use a larger venue. As a result, this is the beginning of stadium rock, as we know it today.

The Beatles live at Shea Stadium August 15th, 1965.

We owe so much to The Beatles, musically; more then a lot of people even realize.

Here are a few songs, from that show, with Ed Sullivan introducing them.

“My baby’s in black and I’m feeling blue”

Enjoy!

Here is another beautiful song from this seemingly, perfect performance.
“I Dig a Pony”

Take note, towards the end, the police come a knocking, at Apple Records.

Enjoy!

A great performance from Zeppelin, in 1970, at Royal Albert Hall. This is truly Rock and Roll history being made…

Out of frustration and hinging on breakup, on January 30, 1969, The Beatles, along with Billy Preston, unannounced, took to the rooftop of Apple Records, in the middle of a business day in London. This famous performance essentially closed down a good part of London and was finally put to an end by the police. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooftop_Concert#The_rooftop_performance

Here is one of my favorite Beatles Songs…
“Don’t Let Me Down”

Well, we are coming up on one year since Led Zeppelin took the stage (below) in London, at The 02 Arena, on December 10th, 2007,  for the one off show, as a tribute to Ahmet Ertegün, one of the co-founders of Atlantic Records.

As one the world’s biggest Led Zeppelin fans, I have to say, that it was one of the most exciting things that has happened in the last few years.

I think they far exceeded any expectations, and anything that they have done (as a group) since their late, great, drummer, John Bonham, passed on in 1980.

This leaves me wondering, what is to come? Will Led Zeppelin go for it, one more time?
