    These words are so powerful!
    Although Voltaire took exception to the words that this man, Monsieur l’abbé was writing, I think that he is saying, he would rather dislike, even detest his words, as opposed to seeing him being silenced and prevented from writing at all.

    Very wise words, indeed.
