1.Of, relating to, or being the person after which something is named. Robinson Crusoe is the eponymous   hero of the book.
2.Named (or thought to have been named) after a person, whether real or fictitious. Pasteurization is an  eponymous term from the name of its creator Louis Pasteur.
A Joule and a Watt are eponymous measures of unit.
