How cool (and historical) is this? Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, together on April 5th, at Radio City Music Hall, singing “With a little Help from My Friends”.
He’s a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Doesn’t have a point of view
Knows not where he’s going to
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere Man, please listen
You don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command
He’s as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?
Nowhere Man, don’t worry
Take your time, don’t hurry
Leave it all till somebody else lends you a hand
Doesn’t have a point of view
Knows not where he’s going to
Isn’t he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere Man, please listen
You don’t know what you’re missing
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command
He’s a real Nowhere Man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
The Beatles, Rubber Soul, 1965
Sure! Ringo and Paul! Bring it on guys! That would be fantastic! http://www.xfm.co.uk/news/2009/sir-macca-would-love-beatles-reunion- In January, Paul appeared on The View; how did I miss that? : ) Anywho, I just watched it; it is a lot of fun! Paul talks about how privileged he was to collaborate (understandably) with John Lennon; then Whoopi, Paul, and the audience sing “Silly Love Songs”, off the cuff. Very cool, indeed! Check it out… Mark Paul, on the View…Pt.1 Paul, on the View…Pt.2 Paul, on the View…Pt.3
1995 was a very good year for “real” classic rock fans: we had Page and Plant touring together, and The Beatles did their anthology project!
The absolute coolest thing about the anthology project was that Paul, Ringo, and George, were given (by Yoko Ono) John Lennon out-takes of his two songs… Real Love and Free as a Bird. With those out takes, The Beatles went into the studio and re-united with John.
That was an absolutely great tribute to John, and both songs were, and still are, excellent!
Unfortunately, The Beatles did not take to the stage, or road together; nonetheless, it was a great musical moment, with lots of great Beatles studio, out-take releases etc.
Anyone who is from the area, may remember The TV Guide?
This is another one that I have in a plastic magazine cover.

There are places i’ll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life i’ve loved them all But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though i know i’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more Though I know i’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more The Beatles, Rubber Soul, 1965
And here is the song Help, from the same performance.
“When I was younger, so much younger then today, I never needed anybody’s help, in any way. Now, these days are gone, I’m not so self assured; now I find, I’ve changed my mind, and opened up the door.” Enjoy! MarkThis is truly history being made; due to the shear magnitude of The Beatles popularity, and demand, there was no other way to accommodate the amount of fans that wanted to see them, except to use a larger venue. As a result, this is the beginning of stadium rock, as we know it today. The Beatles live at Shea Stadium August 15th, 1965. We owe so much to The Beatles, musically; more then a lot of people even realize. Here are a few songs, from that show, with Ed Sullivan introducing them. “My baby’s in black and I’m feeling blue” Enjoy! Mark
Here is another beautiful song from this seemingly, perfect performance. “I Dig a Pony” Take note, towards the end, the police come a knocking, at Apple Records. Enjoy! Mark
Out of frustration and hinging on breakup, on January 30, 1969, The Beatles, along with Billy Preston, unannounced, took to the rooftop of Apple Records, in the middle of a business day in London. This famous performance essentially closed down a good part of London and was finally put to an end by the police. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooftop_Concert#The_rooftop_performance Here is one of my favorite Beatles Songs… “Don’t Let Me Down” Enjoy!
