Here is a very good article, written by Newt Gingrinch, on Crony Capitalism. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=29544 I believe that there are some (politicians) that would like to see our major businesses, in the hands of government. In my opinion, very frightening, indeed. However, after you read the article, see what you think. Mark

As part of a test to become a US Citizen, people applying for citizenship must answer 100 questions. For those who would like to test their knowledge, I am listing 10 of those questions… Anyone care to try? : )
- What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?
- What are two rights in the Declaration of Independence?
- We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
- If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
- What is the highest court in the United States?
- How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
- What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?

noun Mass refers to the intrinsic property of all material objects to resist changes in their momentum. Weight, on the other hand, refers to the downward force produced when a mass is in a gravitational field. In free fall, objects lack weight but retain their mass. The Imperial units of mass include the ounce, pound, and ton. The metric units gram and kilogram are units of mass. A unit for measuring weight or mass is called a weighing scale or, often, simply a scale. A spring scale measures force but not mass, a balance compares masses, but requires a gravitational field to operate. The most accurate instrument for measuring weight or mass is the digital scale, but it also requires a gravitational field, and would not work in free fall. Reference:

Today, The Big 3 CEO’s… Tom LaSorda of Chrysler Group, Alan Mulally of Ford Motor Company and Rick Wagoner of General Motors appeared before Congress, trying to plead for Congress to come bail them out, for decisions that I, and many other Americans see as failed policies and inappropriate use of The American tax payer’s funds. It will likely not fix anything, but rather, prolong the inevitable, which is for these companies to file for bankruptcy, then restructure and renegotiate their contracts, with their unions and other partners. To my satisfaction, and many others, it looks like the funds will not be appropriated. So, where is the hypocrisy? All 3 CEO’s arrived in Washington. DC, in private, corporate jets; not one jet, not a commercial flight, but 3, individual private jets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BKb8MI_tKU&eurl=http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=big+3+ceos+and+congress+and+private+jets&um=1&ie=UTF-8&saiurl=http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/1BKb8MI_tKU/hqdefault.jpg I have to wonder what the unemployment office might have said, if one arrived there, in a limousine, asking for unemployment. Perhaps The Big 3 Ceo’s can team up with the executives over at AIG and get a nice deal on some vaction suites, on a nice island; compliments of the US tax payer. Mark

The soothing sounds of silence whisper in my ear, the birds at my window chirping are all I really hear. There is no need now for thinking, for my mind is at a rest; it’s these few times alone, I really feel my best. The outside world seems empty, it’s here I’d rather stay; although it must seem lonely, it’s here I’ll spend my day. Copyright © 2005 Mark Ross

Wow! I wonder if Congress is going to give 25 billion to The Big 3? Is it good to give them the money, or is it better to let them do a bankruptcy, then reorganize? I see it from both sides…Any thoughts? Mark

There was a time when I’d say how much I love (you). There was a time when you opened your heart and you’d say I love you (too). Now you’re gone, what went wrong, why didn’t you see, we were so meant to be? I know if we tried, we could have made it right. How did it end this way, and what could we have changed? There was a time when I’d give the world to (you). There was a time when I knew you would for me (too). And you moved home, we’re all alone. Is that the way it should be, and do you think of me? I know I think of you, what else can we do, to make it right again? You were my closest friend. There was a time when I’d trust in you so (much). There was a time when you’d trust in me (too). Nothing is the same, since you went away. Do you reach for that phone, when you’re feeling all alone? And on the coldest nights, will you wish I was there? To feel your warmth again, must it be the end? There was a time when I’d think and speak the world of (you). There was a time when I hoped you’d say I do. Copyright © 2005 Mark Ross

You had left here when I was only seven, you had no choice but to leave for Heaven. I never knew why they would say, she’ll be back again, some day. I must have waited for years, so it seemed, to have that loving embrace, that was a dream. Copyright © 2008 Mark Ross

Well, the buzz is that Hillary Clinton is going to be chosen by Obama as The Secretary of State. I think that if she is chosen, and excepts, that would be a good, safe choice for Obama; also I would respect him for reaching out to her. However, from her point of view, I can see the advantages and disadvantages of taking the position. Mark

I am one that feels that McCain was unfairly connected to The Fannie and Freddie meltdown, in the 2008 election. Well, on May 25, 2006, John McCain was one of the few voices that spoke up against Fannie and Freddie. To quote McCain, from 2006… “These are entities that have demonstrated over and over again that they are deeply in need of reform” “If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.” Although the election is now over, I hope that anyone who reads the above will see that McCain was trying to prevent the mess that we are in today. I have to wonder if this material, or fact, was even put out by the mainstream media? Mark

Well, it is being reported that retail sales fell by a record amount in October. I have been saying for a while that things are going to get worse before they get better. I did not see that 700 billion dollar rescue (I use that word very loosely) package as a means to solve anything, and that is proving to be the case. Still, I think that Americans are very resilient and strong people, that love their country. I think that we need to just tighten up a bit, settle down and remain “optimistic”. We should also keep a tight eye on the government, as well; I think that more transparency, and accountability, as it relates to our tax dollars, and some other things, is very much in order, after all of this. With that, it is often through hard times that real, postive change emerges. Mark
